Due to the planned flexible retirement of the current post holder we have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated senior nurse to apply for a job share. Working closely with the Locality Assistant Director, Clinical Director and Lead AHP and supported by community matrons, the post holder will provide clinical and professional leadership and support to a diverse range of adult and specialist nursing teams within the Community Locality which includes District Nursing, Evening and Night Nursing, Macmillan service, Chronic disease management, Learning Disability nursing, Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia service, Dental nursing, Manchester Community Response which includes intermediate care, CRISIS and discharge services. The Lead Nurse post also has operational responsibility for the Macmillan service and the Community Nursing Matron and Quality Matron.

As an integral member of the Central Manchester senior management team, you will provide nursing advice, professional oversight, management of nursing teams, and contributing innovative solutions to workforce and capacity management. You will ensure that the governance structures are in place to assure a high quality and clinically effective nursing provision.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide senior clinical and professional leadership and support to all nursing teams within the locality and work as an integral member of the senior management team alongside the Lead AHP and other leads. In addition to this, they will work closely with the wider network of Lead Nurses across the LCOs' footprint and within the corporate leadership team.

You will be responsible for the delivery, improvement, and maintenance of quality governance in the locality as well as ensuring high quality effective person-centred care to our population.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Current NMC 1st level registration
  • Relevant Master's degree or equivalent
  • Community Specialist Practitioner within relevant field of expertise


Desirable

  • Teaching qualification
  • Management qualification
  • General management experience


Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience in a senior community nursing role with evidence of leading a variety of specialist nursing teams
  • Experienced in successfully managing the implementation of chang
  • Experience of professional leadership, leading to innovation in practice
  • Experience of partnership and interagency working
  • Experience of developing/delivering/monitoring and evaluating training programmes with clinical and non-clinical staff.


Desirable

  • Experience in clinical audit
