We are looking for an experienced nurse with a passion for Rehabilitation to take on the role of Ward Sister / Charge Nurse on Furness Ward at Willesden Centre for Health & Care. We are a 19 bedded inpatient unit providing high quality intensive rehabilitation for patients above the age of 18.
We support patients following a fall, surgery or other clinical reasons that need to recover functional ability to return and manage safely in their own home. This is an exciting time to join us as the ward is currently being commissioned so your input will be valuable to the start up and ongoing service development needs.
The successful candidate will have varied experience working as a band 6 Registered Nurse in a general or rehabilitation setting
Main duties of the job
As a member of the senior team, using your advanced skills and knowledge, you will demonstrate clinical leadership within the clinical environment. You will be expected to work alongside the Matron to ensure the quality and safety standards are maintained.
The successful candidate will play a key role in staff development, contributing to practice development and clinical skills training for registered and non-registered staff, and will be a key point of contact for their team, the wider MDT and the partner services outside of the organisation.
You will receive an annual appraisal and personal development plan which will enable you to have structure within your role and help you to develop both personally and professionally.

Job responsibilities
- To provide and supervise the delivery of high standards of care to service users.
- To lead on the planning, implementation and evaluation of care to named service users, the focus will be on increasing productivity by promoting rehabilitation to improve the patients functional status with a view to them returning back to their home environment or suitable onward placement. Reducing the patients length of stay is paramount and involves actively liaising with relevant services in order to facilitate their discharge plan.
- To demonstrate an advanced level of professional autonomy and accountability in the provision of nursing care and treatment to patients.
