Band 6 Deputy Ward Sister/Charge Nurse
T7South Gynaecology Ward
We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate, dedicated and highly motivated Band 6 Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse to join the our Women's Health team at University College London Hospital. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a genuine passion caring for Women undergoing all aspects of gynaecological and breast care.
Main duties of the job
We are currently a 17 bedded female surgical Women's Health ward caring for patients undergoing oncology and benign gynaecology and breast surgery. These include the following specialities:
As a Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse, you will be working alongside a supportive and committed multi-disciplinary team. This post will include, coordinating the ward during shifts supervision of junior staff and providing support to enable development and deputising for the ward manager. There will be opportunities for you to develop and expand within your role. You can expect to receive in house management training from the Ward Manager and Clinical Practice Educator.

Excellent communication skills, a friendly approachable nature and the ability to manage your own workload are required. Previous gynaecology experience and experience in taking charge of shifts are essential. Previous experience of ward management is not essential as additional training and support will be provided.
This advert is for a part time vacancy equating to 9 shifts per month (2-3 shifts per week).
