An exciting opportunity has arisen for two full time secondment (till March 2025) Neurodevelopmental Practitioners posts with the Gwent Integrated Autism Service (IAS).
The Gwent Integrated Autism Service is an innovative and developing service for autistic adults, that is part of a wider national initiative. It is a multi-agency partnership across Health and Local Authorities who provide a service to support autistic adults people and their families.
You will be part of a Specialist Service who provides a diagnostic assessment service and pre and post diagnostic support. All staff within this service work to an integrated approach, which is outcome focused.
This is an opportunity to be part of a small developing service that encourages innovative thinking and actively explores new ways of working to better improve individuals' experiences accessing the service, whilst providing and maintaining a seamless service at a primary care level. There are opportunities to develop and maintain close professional links with secondary mental health practitioners.
Main duties of the job
As part of the wider MDT and with the support and supervision of Integrated Autism Service Specialist Practitioners undertake diagnostic assessment (in accordance with NICE guidelines|) and post diagnostic support service for adults, their families and other professionals involved with the individual.
The post holder will facilitate post diagnostic support which includes individual and group-based interventions with the individual, their families and other professionals.
The post Holder will provide line management and supervise the team of specialist support workers to undertake interventions that are strength based and outcome focused.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
