The department of Chemical Pathology is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated Biomedical Scientist with HCPC registration to join Blood Sciences team within West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals Trust.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to service improvement as part of the wider Blood Sciences team and to provide leadership and direction across Chemistry department.
The role will enable continued development and require having or develop specialist knowledge and experience with a particular emphasis on Training as well as analysers within the Protein section.
The successful candidate will build on a broad range of experience in Clinical Biochemistry and provide scientific input into both the core automated and specialist biochemistry sections of the department.
Main duties of the job
The Successful applicant will be responsible for the implementation of the Pathology and departmental training policy in Chemical Pathology at Watford and Hemel Hempstead General Hospital.
As a Training lead the successful candidate will be an experienced Biomedical Scientist with Specialist portfolio in Chemical Pathology or equivalent experience.
An extensive technical and scientific knowledge of Chemical Pathology is expected and additional experience with supporting completion of Registration Portfolios and Specialist Diplomas. will be desirable.

Responsible for training plans for BMS and MLA staff across Chemical Pathology. Monitor completion of portfolios for Trainee BMS staff, students and all staff completing registration portfolios, specialist portfolios or blood sciences diplomas.
Able to participate in shift rotation across both sites and work out of ours without supervision to maintain the 24-hour emergency service for the department.
