The Infusion Unit is a Nurse led unit which facilitates the administration of biologic therapies and other medications which require IV access, to prevent hospital admission.
We are a dynamic team looking to provide our service over 7 days between the hours of 8am -6pm. The main patient cohorts are Gastroenterology, Rheumatology and Neurology however, the service is developing and other specialities are beginning to utilize the service effectively.
You will need at least two years' experience in an acute setting at Band 5, and ENB 998 (Mentorship level 3) or the equivalent - opportunities for further education will be available.
We are offering an interesting and varied role where you will be working as part of a friendly team which can provide you with the opportunity to develop your leadership and clinical skills in the field of acute medicine.
Main duties of the job
You will need to provide strong leadership skills, possess excellent communication skills and be able to develop and support staff with clinical and professional expertise. You will also be expected to function effectively under pressure without compromising standards of care and professionalism. Knowledge of Infusion Treatment pathways for Rheumatology, Gastroenterology , Respiratory, Dermatology and Neurology patients with experience in administering IV medication including Biologics and Intravenous Immunoglobulins would be an advantage.
