The successful candidate will work within the Acute and Community Therapies Directorate, with the opportunity to work within both acute and community settings including patients' homes reporting to the Podiatry Manager.
The post is open to third year Undergraduate Podiatry students that will successfully graduate and gain their HCPC registration, and due to commence in post by September 2023.
Main duties of the job
The role is mainly based in community and you will be expected to see patients in a variety of settings, including their own homes.
The candidate will be expected to work with complex patients as part of a Multi-disciplinary team and will have a good working knowledge of podiatric theory and practice. There will be exposure to all areas of Podiatry including wound care, nail surgery and biomechanics via rotation.

You will require a high level of communication skills, and be expected to utilise a wide range of IT systems in the day to day management of patients. you will be expected to maintain accurate and details patient records and be able to escalate concerns related to safeguarding and patient harm.
There is the expectation to undertake audit and research for the department and to continue to develop their skills and knowledge in the field of podiatry
You will need to be hard working, compassionate and willing to learn new techniques in a variety of environments providing the highest levels of patient centered care.
