Applications are invited from qualified ODP practitioners who wish to provide dynamic support to the anaesthetists, surgeons and theatre teams.

The operating department at The Friarage Hospital, Northallerton comprises of 6 main in-patient/day case theatres and a minor-ops theatre and 2 recovery areas.

The theatres provide an operating service to the following clinical specialities:

General Surgery, Gynaecology, Urology, Plastic Surgery, Orthopaedics, Maxillo-facial ,ENT and Ophthalmic.

You will need to be an active member of the multidisciplinary team by demonstrating a range of essential skills to meet the needs of the patient in a safe caring environment that promotes evidence based practice

The Friarage Hospital in Northallerton has an opportunity for enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated Scrub ODP/Nurses to join our multi speciality elective theatre suites. There are currently 5 inpatient theatres and 1 day surgery theatre on the Friarage Hospital site.

Main duties of the job

The theatre accommodates the following major specialties:

General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, Gynaecology, Plastics, ENT, Maxillo Facial, Ophthalmic, Pain and Spinal Surgery

The Centre is committed to staff development and offers a good competency based training package. Staff will also be at times expected to work across site at the main tertiary centre at James Cook University Hospital, candidates will have the opportunity to develop their theatre skills in an exciting multi speciality environment Good communication and organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential to this post.
