The post holder will work as part of the team in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients who present to the UTC with a range of urgent care health needs minor illness or minor Injury, autonomously managing the episode of care within their scope of practice and experience, liaising with primary care, acute and community colleagues as appropriate. The post holder will utilise the skills and competencies of an advanced clinical practitioner such as prescribing.

Person Specification

Qualifications and/or professional registration

Essential

  • Completed or working towards HCB in Advanced Clinical practice or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
  • Professional qualification/degree appropriate for ACP role
  • Current Registration with NMC/HBCP
  • Independent/Supplementary Prescribing (HCPC V300) or Advanced Medicines Management module


Desirable

  • Independent/Supplementary Prescribing (HCPC V300) or Advanced Medicines Management module


Experience

Essential

  • Experienced in Leadership/Management at band 7 or above
  • Substantial post registration experience in relevant clinical field
  • Experience of teaching and mentoring staff at all levels across a multi-disciplinary team


Desirable

  • Experience of working within clinical steering groups/taskforces at organisational level
  • Experience of working within clinical or professional groups/networks at ICS or national level
  • Experience of leading and delivering quality improvement


Skills and Knowledge

Essential

  • Able to manage high pressure situations and prioritise workload to ensure balance between the clinical and other elements of an advanced clinical practitioner role
  • Up to date advanced clinical skills in a clinical speciality relevant to role
  • Able to demonstrate good leadership skills with the ability to engage and deliver change through listening, negotiation and partnership working


Desirable

  • In-depth knowledge of recent NHS and health and social care legislation relevant to community services
