An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Highly Specialist Band 7 Physiotherapist in the Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapy department in Swansea Bay UHB. The role will involve working across the MSK pathway in the Clinical Musculoskeletal Assessment & Treatment Service (CMATS) and core physiotherapy. The post holder assess and manage patients with complex MSK conditions. Additionally there will be requirement for supporting the education of other staff including mentoring , supervision and teaching sessions. The post holder will communicate with a breath of health care professionals at multi disciplinary team meetings and other forums. The post holder will support the delivery of MSK services in Swansea Bay.

Main duties of the job

The post holder must have evidence of extensive knowledge and experience in the MSK field. The role requires an individual with highly developed clinical reasoning skills to implement a management plan utilising a shared decision making process. You should have strong insight of evidence based practice across MSK spectrum. The role will involve assessing and managing patients with complex MSK needs, it is important that the post holder has experience of managing a variety of conditions independently or as part of an multidisciplinary approach. The post holder will work closely with Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners in CMATS who will provide mentoring and support. You will also work closely with other Allied Health Professionals and other stakeholders including GP's, secondary/tertiary care consultants. The post holder will be required to support the education of others in core physiotherapy and be involved in training and development programmes

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential

  • Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy Professional Registration with HCPC


Desirable

  • Master or other relevant post graduate training


Knowledge, skills and experience

Essential

  • Broad range of post graduate experience with significant specialist experience in MSK Out-patients
  • Experience with research, audit and service improvement
  • Significant experience supervising, mentoring and training physiotherapy staff.
