Achieve Treatment and Recovery Services provides support for people experiencing problems with drug and alcohol use across Bury, Bolton, Salford and Trafford. We are an NHS led service, working with multiple agencies in a unique partnership model. This partnership model enables us to work with patients in a holistic way focusing on the person and not the problem.
We are seeking to recruit an Addictions Nurse who will specialise in delivering harm reduction interventions across our services in Bury, Bolton, Salford and Trafford.
The successful candidate will deliver blood borne virus screening interventions and be involved in hepatitis C micro-elimination work, will be involved in the vaccination programme, and in needle exchange provision across the services. The successful candidate will also be involved in the development of pathways for physical healthcare and onward referral.

Main duties of the job
- Deliver blood borne virus screening interventions and be involved in hepatitis C micro-elimination work
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the specialist clinical care of patients
- Provide specialised advice to patients, families, and carers in the context of substance use
- To plan, deliver, and evaluate healthcare assessments, prioritising health care needs for individuals
- To provide a range of specialist healthcare interventions including basic wound care, BBV testing, immunisations, ECG, LFT, physical observations
- To liaise with other agencies to support service users to access relevant services which will meet their health and social care needs
- To involve families and carers where appropriate
- To encourage and support users to adopt safer practices and healthier lifestyles
- To support new staff and students to learn and develop in their new role or placement, and to provide mentorship and coaching as needed. Provide professional and clinical supervision.
- To provide specialist clinical advice and guidance and support to colleagues and other professionals
- To deliver specialist internal training to wider teams in Achieve footprint.
