Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board plays a key role in delivering specialist trauma care as part of an inclusive and collaborative South, West and Mid Wales Trauma Network spanning 6 health board areas.
The Trauma Network and the development of the Major Trauma Units in Cwm Taf Morgannwg seeks to enhance patient clinical and functional outcomes (across the whole pathway from prevention to rehabilitation and on-going care), in addition to improving the experience of patients, their families and staff across the Network. To achieve this we need dedicated, enthusiastic and experienced health care professionals to join this exciting new network.
The post holder will be responsible for the safe and timely repatriation of complex trauma patients from the major trauma centre in Cardiff. They will hold a clinical case load and need to be able to plan, deliver and monitor clinical interventions. This will require the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively across professions and organisations.
We have a full time post available however, we will consider flexible working applications.
Main duties of the job
The role will involve direct clinical input on occasions and support others in therapeutic interventions for trauma patients across the health board sites. They will need to develop treatment plans that reflect safety, quality, effectiveness and efficiency. An ability to be flexible to meet these needs is therefore essential.
The successful candidate will require excellent communication and organisational skills, a broad experience of working across trauma, neurosciences, spinal injuries and critical care and have worked successfully with a range of professionals and patients. You will be able to work on your own as well as within a multi-disciplinary team.
You will be supported to develop your knowledge, skills and experience to Masters level within the network and a willingness for personal development to enrich these roles will be essential.
The post holder will be in a key position of influence and will require excellent negotiating and leadership skills be able to work independently and as part of diverse teams on many sites.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in the implementation of the major trauma pathway in a challenging environment with a dedicated multi-disciplinary approach.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
