An opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and creative qualified psychologists to join a newly developing 18-25s Psychology Service based in North East Essex.
If you would like to make a real difference to young adults' lives by developing and providing early specialist treatment, we would like to hear from you. We have 1.5 whole time equivalent posts to offer so are able to be flexible if part time hours would best suit you.
We welcome applications from both experienced Psychologists, and those who have recently qualified and may be appointed at a band 7 on a preceptorship basis.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to work autonomously to provide a high quality Psychology service, which will include the provision of psychological assessments, formulation and therapy, and assisting young adults in the transition from CAMHS. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring early intervention through collaborative working with Primary Care colleagues, employment, education and other system partners, supporting early treatment.
Alongside the expected clinical skills, we will be looking for someone who has the vision and motivation to continue shape and develop this new service alongside the Consultant Clinical Psychologist leading for Adult Community Psychological Services across the North East area of the trust, and to actively contribute to the evaluation of the service.
The successful applicant will have strong networking and relationship building skills, alongside skills in creatively and actively working with this client group and the wider network around them. They are likely to have a strong understanding of the impact of Trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences, and to be interested in promoting social inclusion and the empowerment of service users within their mental health recovery and in maintaining their social systems.
This post will be based in the Colchester and Tendring areas. You will also provide consultation and training for staff, and placement and supervision for trainees, assistants, CAPs, and volunteers as required.
