We are looking to appoint one new Associate Non-Executive Director (NED) with a registered medical background to provide support, oversight, governance and leadership in the pursuit of our strategy.As an organisation which is committed to making a positive difference for all colleagues, we recognise that we need to enhance the diversity of our current Trust Board.

Main duties of the job
The role will be fully involved in all aspects of the Board's work including as member of board committees, although will not participate in any formal vote.
There are four key aspects to the role:
The Associate Non-Executive Director role is used successfully in the NHS to support Board succession strategy and achieve a balance of Board level skills. The Associate NED role is a 'step up' role aimed to attract potential Non-Executive Director candidates who do not yet have (sufficient) Board-level experience, or currently do not have the required availability - but have the ability and potential to succeed in a Trust Board-level role.
