Our Resuscitation Services is offering an excellent opportunity for a Resuscitation Officer to join the team and provide training across our three main hospital sites at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust.
With a dedication for teaching and clinical training, you will facilitate and deliver training activities to over 5000 staff requiring skills and knowledge in basic, immediate and advanced life support, for adult, paediatric and neonatal patients.
You will be a valued member of a friendly and supportive team, applying your previous experience and skills, in managing and attending cardiac arrests and medical emergencies. As well as supporting clinical areas in the management of deteriorating patients, in clinical audit and the provision of quality assurance, both locally and nationally.
Main duties of the job
You will support the Lead Resuscitation Officer in managing the provision of basic to advanced life support training in accordance with Local and National standards.
You will assist in the planning, organisation, implementation and monitoring of resuscitation training across the Trust against the associated standards and frameworks. Working in partnership with the Lead Resuscitation Officer, you will analyse and plan training needs for all staff groups as advised by clinicians and line managers.
You will play an active part in developing the Trust guidelines and protocols in line with national standards and frameworks for resuscitation and ensure compliance in teaching and practice. You will ensure that a suitable learning environment is provided through maintenance of the training and simulation spaces, and the equipment within them.
You will participate in local and national clinical audits related to resuscitation, monitoring standards of resuscitation practice within the Trust. You will provide data and information to the Lead Resuscitation Officer to inform on our Quality Assurance reports.

The post holder will:
Assist with the development and implementation of an efficient and effective resuscitation service which is evidence based and reflective of national and local standards within North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust
Attend cardiac arrest 2222 calls within the Trust during working hours, and perform as an expert practitioner, demonstrating advanced clinical competence and knowledge. Providing clinical support to members of the resuscitation team
Support data collection and reporting of audits relating to resuscitation including, monitoring of cardiac arrests and the availability of appropriate resuscitation equipment

- Registered Nurse, Allied Healthcare Professional or equivalent Registered Professional Qualification
- Evidence of relevant post registration professional development
Desirable
- Advanced Life Support Provider and/or ILS/ALS instructor candidate
- Advanced Life Support/Immediate Life Support Instructor
- Registered teaching qualification, e.g PGCE or equivalent/mentorship

- In depth current post registration experience at senior level within acute care environment
