An opportunity to experience working in a busy department, either as a new graduate or an Orthoptist with previous experience. We need a full-time motivated orthoptist to work as part of our team.
The department supports new graduates in the transition from University to independent practice and provides a clinical supervisor and mentor.
The successful candidate will be working with the multidisciplinary team in the Ophthalmology Department comprising of Orthoptists, Optometrists, Ophthalmologists, Technicians, OSPs, the nursing and admin teams. The post holder will be required to provide clinical teaching for pre-registration optometrists, medical students, post graduate medics and other health professionals and support.
The post holder will be required to work various shifts to support the needs of the service. This includes working weekdays, weekends, bank holiday days and varying hours with the earliest start time at 7.00am and the latest finish at 8.00pm. You are strongly urged to consider your suitability to meet the service requirements prior to applying for this post. The expected rota will include one evening clinic per week and one Saturday per month.
