An exciting opportunity is available for a competent musculoskeletal physiotherapist to join a friendly, and supportive team in the Occupational health department at Salisbury Foundation Trust. You will be invaluable in helping to improve the health and wellbeing of our NHS work staff and help the Trust with its commitment to fulfilling the NHS People Plan and People Promise. Occupational Health Physiotherapists utilise their skills to accelerate workers recovery from, or self management of, their musculoskeletal conditions and thereby assist their ability to undertake their jobs efficiently and effectively. You will also play a key role in helping to prevent or reduce sickness absence from musculoskeletal disorders. Full training will be provided with regards to developing your physiotherapy skills in occupational health and ergonomics such as undertaking ergonomic assessments, job task analysis, assessing fitness for work, vocational rehabilitation and mentoring. Main duties of the job
As an autonomous practitioner within the Occupational Health Department, you will have the freedom and authority to initiate and implement a seamless episode of care to members of staff experiencing musculoskeletal problems through direct referrals into the Occupational Health department.
You will have the opportunity to treat a diverse range of staff, from a variety of environments, experiencing different clinical conditions. These conditions can range from tennis elbow to complex problems such as spinal disc protrusions.
The aim of the service is to provide easy and early access to a specialist physiotherapy service with the view to access treatment in a timely manner, which will help facilitate a safe and structured return to work plan.
