We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to complement our existing, expanding nursing team. Opportunities will be given to work within a number of various specialties which currently include General Medicine, Haematology, Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, Care of the Elderly and Surgery, however the list is not exhaustive. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate an interest within the different specialties.
Exposure to such a broad spectrum of specialties offers the opportunity to acquire many new skills and continually develop learning, supported through a combination of bespoke training and learning while in practice.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care without direction and supervision.
They will demonstrate and supervise practice and procedures to registered and unregistered nursing staff to secure effective nursing practice, and take a key role in the induction and mentorship of new and unregistered staff.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, plus the ability to work as part of a team is essential. Knowledge of outpatient work would be useful but training and support will be provided. Commitment to professional development must be demonstrated.
Due to increasing demands on the service, occasional evening and or weekend work may be required. Furthermore at times of extreme pressures within C& V UHB, there may be a requirement to support other clinical areas.
