The post holder will be required to support strategic leadership for the division in relation to quality improvement within services, governance processes, and compliance against quality standards and other performance metrics.

The post holder will support the Divisional Head of Nursing and Associate Directors on the development and implementation of the Quality Assurance Framework within service delivery, establishing best practice standards and performance targets, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing expert guidance to support the delivery of services that reflect the best interests of people who use them.

The post holder will keep abreast of national initiatives and developments, identifying and communicating changes to ensure that best practice initiatives are implemented as part of continuous improvement across the Division's Older Adults, Working Age Adults, and Specialist Services. They will assist in ensuring that teams have up to date policies and procedures in place that are relevant, understood and complied with, and will assist in training and development of staff as appropriate.

Main duties of the job

  • Support senior management in designing and operating systems which ensure maximum staff performance in their work ensuring a high-quality service with enhanced morale, in keeping with the principles of the Trusts Vision and Values.
  • Establish systems and processes for effective communication within the area of responsibility across agencies and in collaboration with lead practitioners.
  • Develop strategies to promote an environment of service user and carer involvement and focus on recovery.
  • Responsibility for risk management and Health & Safety in the workplace.
  • Partake in the Senior Manager 'On Call' Rota.
  • Communicate effectively with any staff on a timely basis ensuring robust systems exist so that staff feels informed.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • RGN/Midwife/Graduate/Doctor/ with under and/or post grad qualifications or suitable alternative experience.
  • NMC or HCPC Registration where appropriate


Desirable

  • Management qualification would be desirable.


Experience

Essential

  • Have solid management/leadership experience in Mental Health Services.
  • Have extensive experience working with people with Mental Health needs.
  • Experience of developing strategies that promote an environment of user involvement / coproduction and recovery and promote Health and Social Care Governance.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the capacity to devise and implement innovative solutions.
