Ward Matron, leading, influencing, developing and expanding clinical services throughout IPH and the Trust and strategically influencing the direction of nursing. Work collaboratively with a variety of health care, patients, their representatives and external agencies to ensure the delivery of services within IPH are consistent with both national and local strategy, to include relevant governance, quality and operational frameworks.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for the development of a high quality, effective and efficient service to patients and healthcare professionals through leadership and supervision, robust clinical governance and education.
Directly responsible for the line management of designated IPH staff who are accountable and responsible for the leadership and direction of their teams and the services they deliver. Engage with patients and relatives utilising national and local surveys, engage with patient forums and patient advisors to determine patients and carers needs and wants, have a full understanding of patient experience and develop action plans to ensure a positive patient experience and the highest standards of care are achieved. Engage in clinical activity on a regular and frequent basis. This may include all clinical duties specific to the relevant sphere of expertise
