The Learning Technologist will be responsible for delivering professional and cutting edge digital learning including designing and developing a variety of eLearning and enhancing the use of learning technologies across a shared service team operating across Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

There will be a training element to the role, where the successful candidate can be supported through a 2 year apprenticeship programme that will result in a Level 5 in e-learning Design qualification, this will be completed through a study day every week:

Digital learning designer / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education

The apprenticeship is not a mandatory part of this role but an opportunity for development if the successful candidates.

Main duties of the job

To serve as a point of contact for all e-learning enquiries in relation to developing a new course, to work with the individual/s to ensure that the course is fit for purpose prior to being put onto the platform.

Provide advice and guidance to managers, learners and educators with regards to e-learning, using a variety of the most appropriate communication methods

Job responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for:
  • Working closely with colleagues to ensure the effective development, implementation and utilisation of eLearning
  • Identifying opportunities to use eLearning and other learning technologies to drive innovation and improvements in service provision
  • Contributing specialist e-learning skills and knowledge to technology-enhanced learning projects

The role requires someone with an enthusiasm for using technology to enhance learning. This will include eLearning associated with our statutory and mandatory training but also the use of technologies such as virtual reality and augmented reality. It requires someone who will be able to build and maintain relationships with a variety of colleagues and help them utilise learning technologies as well as with build relationships with peers across the sector

Essential

  • Good time management
  • Attention to detail, high standard of work and customer focus
  • Confidence to deliver brief presentation (e.g. to Divisional meetings. Team Brief or Corporate Welcome)


Desirable

  • Administration, design and development of learning platforms
  • Experience of making and editing videos and animation
  • Experience in graphic design and layout skills
  • Experience of working within branding guidelines
  • Knowledge of digital learning technologies and use to develop courses and manage learners
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of using development tools and coding such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Articulate 360 including Storyline and Rise, front end languages such as HTML, CSS, and proprietary or open source authoring tools
