We are looking for a Leadership and Organisational Development (OD) Lead who will undertake a strategic role in supporting Berkshire Healthcare to develop and implement a robust programme of Leadership and Organisational Development (OD) interventions for a wide range of leaders, teams and directorates, applying the full OD consultancy cycle to support delivery of our people and strategic priorities, as well as culture development and change in line with our values, behaviours and ED& I goals.

You will also need to work closely with other People Directorate functional leads (e.g. ED& I, L& D, Health & Wellbeing, Business Partnering), collaborating with different specialists where required.

Main duties of the job

You will be a credible, experienced professional who can evidence significant experience of consulting with and facilitating stakeholders at all levels in identifying areas requiring OD support and develop appropriate data driven, business focussed, action plans to improve culture, performance and team effectiveness.

You will provide effective leadership and line management of our Leadership and OD team. Ensuring they are fully supported to deliver on our priorities, people strategy domains, action plans, directorate consultancy and individual lead portfolios.

A key element of this role will be to evaluate the 'impact and value 'of OD ensuring baseline metrics are captured through diagnostics and to ensure our solutions are outcome focussed and demonstrate return on effort.

Person Specification

Education and Training

Essential

  • Professional knowledge acquired through a degree and post-graduate degree or equivalent level of experience of working in an environment with OD professionals and understanding of strengths and limitations of OD tools and techniques.
  • Coaching/mentoring qualification or substantial experience of coaching and/or mentoring a range of people.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Leadership theories, models and best practice
  • Demonstrable evidence of continuing professional development


Desirable

  • Accredited 360 feedback facilitator
  • Action Learning Set Facilitator
  • Workplace Mediation qualification
  • Teaching/Training qualification
  • Psychometric analysis qualification such as MBTI, Hogan, Insights, Disc.
  • Affina OD accreditation, knowledge, experience or willingness to undertake


Experience and Knowledge

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience of working in a similar role.
  • Experience of managing projects in a large, complex organisation.
  • Significant experience of designing and delivering a range of high quality, high impact leadership development and training
  • Experience of evaluation and proof of impact of learning and development programmes.
  • Experience of running focus groups and facilitating group discussions.
  • Experience of line managing staff.
  • Experience of budget management


Desirable

  • Previous experience of working in an L& D role.
  • Previous experience of working in the NHS or other public sector environment.
  • Experience of assessing and accrediting training and designing training feedback
  • Experience of report writing, and analysing data

  • Excellent facilitation and consultancy skills Ability to facilitate and chair workshops/ groups and deliver presentations/interventions to all levels of individuals.
  • Able to communicate complex and sensitive information simply and clearly, adapting style to suit the audience.
  • Demonstrable ability to engage, influence and persuade others at all levels and maintain a customer mind-set.
  • Demonstrates an ability to problem solve in high pressure situations.
  • Flexible, well-motivated, adaptable team player
  • Computer literate with experience of working with the Microsoft Office package including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and MS Teams.
