This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic Qualified CBT Therapist or Clinical Psychologist to join the new and evolving Mental Health provision across G.P Surgeries / Primary Care Networks (PCNs) in Hampshire.

It is a fixed-term, one year post from January 2024-December 2024 as the acting Clinical Team lead for the CYP IAPT team based in the PCNs.

The team is currently made up of qualified Children Wellbeing Practitioners and Senior Wellbeing Practitioners delivering Low Intensity (LI) interventions and Whole Community Approach (WCA) work within GP surgeries. Currently high intensity (HI) CBT provision is also being incorporated into this model, with the expectation of some trainees in January 2024. This team forms part of the Early Help provision within across Hampshire so will be working closely with the existing Primary Mental Health Workers and Mental Health support Teams in Schools as well as the Specialist Locality Based Community CAMHS Teams.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will be the acting Clinical Team Lead for this team so will ideally possess or be willing to work towards a Low Intensity (LI) CBT Supervisor qualification. Job responsibilities

You would be offering assessments and interventions to children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties alongside leadership responsibilities for the team. As part of this role you would contribute to the core work of the team as well as offering more specialist clinical interventions. The role would also provide the opportunity to become involved in delivering evidence-based group interventions. The leadership aspect of the role will involve oversight of the team and its operational functioning alongside working with the General Manager and the wider Early Help Leadership Team on the development of the team's off and service.

You will receive regular supervision, and will have opportunities to link with other specialist practitioners in the trust, as well as access training opportunities offered by Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust. You will have access to an established governance structure that is committed to the development of low and high intensity CBT within CAMHs.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Recognised/accredited postgraduate level training in a psychological therapy as specified in the appendix.
  • Professionally registered as specified in the Appendix


Knowledge/Experience

Essential

  • Substantial post-qualification/accreditation experience of specialist psychological therapy (assessment, formulation and treatment), as specified in the Appendix, maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse
  • A high level of competence in applying a psychological therapy to complex difficulties appropriate for this therapy with the client group, and a proven track record of delivering positive outcomes in this therapy
  • Experience of offering teaching, training and supervision within a demanding organisational context
  • A clear and theoretically informed approach to supervision
  • Experience of representing psychological therapy within the context of multi-disciplinary care within a complex organisational context
  • Significant experience of working with the particular client group served by the team/service
  • Knowledge of guidance and legislation in relation to the client group
  • A high level specialist knowledge of the theory and practice of specialist psychological therapy as specified in the appendix, as applied to the client group using this service
  • Experience of the application of psychological therapy in different cultural contexts and experience of working within a multicultural framework
