We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Allied Health Professional to join our Children and Young Peoples' Services as Hampshire CAMHS AHP Consultant Professional Lead.

Hampshire CAMHS are advertising the very exciting new post of an Allied Health Professionals Consultant Professional Lead. The post will sit across Hampshire CAMHS services and the post holders base in Hampshire is negotiable. Key responsibilities would include leading on the development, support and expansion of our AHP workforce within CAMHS, and providing professional leadership in this area. (The current professions are occupational therapy, speech and language therapy and dietetics)

This will be a varied, influential and challenging position that would suit an experienced AHP practitioner who is looking to develop their clinical and professional leadership skills. Ideally, you will have some leadership experience, and want to bring vision, energy and creativity to work to really make a difference to the working lives of AHP's, and the young people and families who use our services.

Main duties of the job

To provide professional and clinical leadership across the AHP workforce within Hampshire CAMHS To contribute to the development of the new Trust's AHP strategy and participate with the trust's overall clinical strategy.

To provide professional supervision, overseeing professional development of AHP's (both qualified and students).

To work to deliver quality services underpinned by our framework of patient safety, experience and effectiveness. You will lead on a range of clinical audit, quality improvement alongside other consultant professional leads and the recovery model within the service.

You will need to be happy to travel as needed, and also work from home at other times in line with current practice.

You will need to have a flair for collaborative working and problem solving in a multi-agency context, and be confident dealing with staff from other agencies at all levels to ensure that young people receive the best care, and that our staff are well supported in their work.

Hampshire CAMHS has a strong multi professional consultant leadership team and you would be working alongside experienced clinical and management colleagues, where innovation is valued and supported. Supported by Clinical Leads and other consultant professional leads, you will work with the teams to ensure a high standard of performance and quality in all four pillars of advanced clinical practice. This will occur through supporting strategic service development and research, high quality clinical leadership, training and development, highly skilled clinical consultation, and supervision.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree/post graduate diploma/MSc in occupational therapy, speech and language therapy or another appropriate AHP profession.
  • Evidence of master level post qualification study
  • Registration with the HCPC as an AHP
  • Practice Education training
  • Management/Leadership training
  • Training in the use of standardised assessment tools relevant to AHP profession


Knowledge

Essential

  • Extensive experience as a qualified AHP in a related field
  • Broad experience of working with clients with a range of mental health problems and learning disabilities
  • Experience of multidisciplinary working
  • Experience of supervising staff and students
  • Experience of both group and individual work
  • Experience as a Care Coordinator
  • Experience in a clinical area related to the post
  • Experience of multi-agency work
  • Leadership experience
  • Expert knowledge of AHP speciality area


Desirable

  • Experience in applying a range of assessment tools and a comprehensive knowledge of occupational therapy clinical approaches used in mental health
  • Research experience

  • Ability to act as lead specialist AHP for the clinical area, provide a high level of specialist advice in complex situations

  • Demonstrate track record of writing and delivering key strategies
  • Ability to set up and maintain clinical and professional supervision system for junior staff, including appraisal, allocation of work, and appointment.

  • Ability to use Trust IT systems including e-mail and electronic clinical records
  • Ability to participate in training in de-escalation techniques and breakaway
  • Ability to be able to concentrate on complex client assessment and intervention
