A fantastic opportunity had arisen to join an exciting new service where you will be providing leadership and support alongside a Consultant Psychiatrist. In this role you will lead and manage the Core 13 PLN Service at Frimley Park Hospital (FPH), which is a 9am -11pm service across a 7 day week. The PLN Service delivers crisis assessment and risk assessment, formulation and management within the ED and Paediatric colleagues to make best decision and plan of care when CYP are in crisis.

You will be responsible for the management and leadership of our Consultant Psychiatrist, Nurses and support staff within this service. This model at FPH is a new and extended offer and unique to the acute hospitals in Surrey.

You will attend relevant forums to operationally lead and manage this developing service within the ED, the Mindworks Surrey (CYPS) partnership, Social Care and with other external stakeholders. You will develop a working leadership relationship with Surrey, E Berkshire and with NE Hants.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide operational leadership and management to the clinical service
  • As a member of the Management team, to develop, review and maintain effective systems which ensure the service is delivered according to national, CQC, local and Trust standards, policies, guidelines and local service plans
  • Ensure that systems are in place in order that comprehensive assessment and good treatment planning takes place and is focussed on target areas and effectiveness
  • Ensure that inter-agency protocols work effectively and are integrated with identified care pathways for children using services - they may be using MH Services provided by other organisations and not just SABP
  • In partnership with professional leads develop and maintain effective systems and practices to ensure the effective recruitment, supervision, appraisal and continuing professional development needs of the various disciplines related to service needs and strategic plans.
  • Ensure that all members of the team comply with Trust requirements for clinical records, data collection and meet agreed activity targets.
