An opportunity has become available, for a Band 6 Radiographer. There has never been a more exciting time to join our Team. Full time and Part time hours of working will be considered. The Heart Centre at UHNM provides tertiary cardiology and cardiothoracic surgical services for over 2 million people across Staffordshire, Shropshire, Derbyshire and South Cheshire, as well as secondary care cardiology for the local population. Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgical provision within UHNM has recently undergone substantial expansion and you will be joining a strong, motivated team. The successful applicant will join the established and prominent consultant, nursing and technical team, and will have every opportunity to participate in continuing development and success of the service
Main duties of the job
The department currently has three brand new state of the art cardiac catheter labs (2 single plane and one Bi-plane) and we are in the process of undergoing replacement for our fourth single plane imaging intensifier.
In our coronary theatres we perform diagnostic coronary angiography, percutaneous coronary intervention, a TAVI programme and a busy structural list including percutaneous closure of atrial septal defects and patent foramen ovale, percutaneous aortic valve implantation and Mitral clipping.
We also carry out diagnostic and therapeutic electrophysiology procedures, permanent pacemaker and implantable defibrillator implantation are all performed.
Other procedures conducted include alcoholic septal reduction for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, chronic total occlusions and biopsies.
The successful candidate will hold a Degree or Diploma in Radiography, previous cath lab experience is desirable but not essential.
