An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic part-time Endoscopy Staff Nurse to join the team within the Endoscopy Unit at Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen.

Main duties of the job

The successful individual will work within a team assisting to deliver the highest standards of pre, peri and post-procedure care to patients undergoing a variety of Endoscopy procedures.

This busy unit works over 6 days a week, offering a service to both out-patients and in-patients offering diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for adults and also participates in an out of hours on call rota.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification

Qualifications & Knowledge

Essential

  • Registered Nurse level 1
  • General Nursing training
  • Basic life support


Desirable

  • Health related degree or equivalent experience
  • Teaching qualification
  • Advanced life support


Experience

Essential

  • Good foundation of nursing experience
  • General medical/surgical experience
  • Working as member of multi-disciplinary team
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures
  • Up to date with current Nursing issues


Desirable

  • Previous endoscopy/gastroenterology/colorectal or recovery experience
  • Expanded roles - IV Drug Admin and Cannulation
