To provide high quality nursing care to patients as part of a cohesive Multi-Disciplinary Team. The post holder will undertake duties involving delivery of nursing services and holistic assessments of patients health needs using a person centred approach. In addition, the post holder will be involved in health promotion and innovative activities that enhance patient service delivery and the patient experience.

Recovery Band 5 Nurse/ODP Full time 37.5 hours per week

Are you an experienced Recovery Band 5 Nurse/ODP with Paediatric experience, or a Paediatric registered nurse with an interest in recovery and day surgery, then please apply!

Our day surgery unit has a main theatre and procedure room covering the following specialities:
  • Orthopaedic
  • ENT
  • General Surgery
  • Urology
  • Dental
  • Ophthalmology
  • Gastroeneterology

Person Specification



  • Registered Nurse (RN/RCN)/ODP
  • Literacy and numeracy skill
  • NMC/HCPC Registration


  • Mentorship/Assessor training
  • Paediatric Intermediate Life Support
  • Recovery course

Knowledge & Skills


  • Clinical experience within speciality
  • Knowledge of evidence based practice
  • Knowledge of infection control
  • IV and Medication competent



  • Recent clinical nursing experience in area of speciality
  • Negotiating and liaising within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience of undertaking general assessment by utilising evidence based care.
  • Previous experience in the Nursing process, care planning and fluent in record keeping



  • Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing such as computerised documentation and data entry
