This is a really exciting time to join the Clinical Effectiveness and Assurance Team at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire. The successful post holder will join a dedicated team within the Quality Department, focused on developing and monitoring quality assurance requirements. The post holder will provide direct support to the Head of Clinical Effectiveness and Assurance in strengthening a culture of assurance management across the organisation.
Main duties of the job
The Assurance Manager will support the Associate Director of Quality - Clinical Effectiveness and Assurance in leading the strategic implementation of assurance activity across UHCW by:Developing assurance activities to support the Trust in demonstrating provision of high quality care and compliance of national and local standards, for example those monitored by the Care Quality Commission (CQC)
Leading local inspection teams and coordinating the logistics of inspection activity, providing leadership and guidance to ensure that the team provides a quality service to all specialties in relation to inspection activity.
Interrogating clinical information systems and hard copy patient health records to investigate, monitor and report quality information across the Trust
Developing information materials and delivering education and training programmes on inspection
Deputising for the Head of Clinical Effectiveness and Assurance in absence.

Job responsibilities
Co-ordinate robust and effective implementation of systems and processes to support internal and external inspection and where required, promote improvements in patient care. For example, but not exhaustive of Getting it Right First Time, Commissioning for Quality and Innovation (CQUIN) programme, CQC Facilitate the development and implementation of Trust wide inspection policies across the Trust to underpin the delivery of the Quality Co-ordinate the development of the Quality Departments Assurance Developmental Plan and underpinning Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Deliver the Assurance Developmental Plan, achieving outcomes and targets for areas of Co-ordinate the monitoring and dissemination of assurance information and activity, including an up- to- date framework of regulatory activity, external inspection, and peer review for example, but not exhaustive of, GIRFT reports, CQC assurance and inspection and CQUIN programme Produce high quality, accurate and timely reports as per the reporting calendar alongside additional reports where required g., post unannounced inspection. Develop departmental and corporate KPIs to underpin the assurance agenda, including monitoring of trends and outstanding actions from inspection outcomes and reports to provide assurance or highlight risks to Trust Provide advice to and representation on Trust-wide committees and other forums across the organisation pertinent to quality improvement on assurance and compliance Provide support and advice for healthcare professionals and inspection teams in the development of inspection and assurance Advise and support core functions and specialty clinical teams to allow them to manage their assurance and inspection activity
