An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced critical care nurse to gain valuable experience, skills and knowledge as a Band 7 Nurse for Critical care in General ITU, Morriston Hospital.
You will need to be passionate about ensuring patients receive safe, high quality care, and be patient focused. In addition you need to be someone who has the ability to improve services. You need to be able to inspire and lead your teams, with highly visible compassionate leadership, demonstrating the values of the health board.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is a line manager/ specialist lead accountable for own professional actions, responsible for leading a team to assess, develop, implement and evaluate patient care for the critically ill patient with complex clinical needs.
The post holder is required to provide technical/specialist assistance requiring a high degree of dexterity, precision, accuracy and prolonged concentration to patients and medical staff.
The post holder manages own workload/ area and works collaboratively with all disciplines to ensure the effective running of the unit.
The post holder is responsible for the deployment, supervision and teaching of staff within the clinical areas cross Health Board in order to support the Critical Care Managers in providing clinical and managerial leadership.
The post holder will supervise the professional work of nursing staff within the units allocating work effectively considering skill mix, competency and development of staff and patient requirements.
The post holder will adhere to The NMC Code of Professional Standards of Practice and behaviour for Nurses and Midwives (2018).
