Looking for a supported role to develop your neuropsychology skills? We are looking for a newly qualified or experienced Band 7 Clinical or Practitioner Psychologist with an interest in neuropsychology to join our innovative Neurorehabilitation Service. The service includes a 6-bed 2b Inpatient Unit at the Pulross Centre in Brixton community neurorehabilitation and condition management for a range of conditions with team bases in Southwark and Lambeth. We offer intensive, inter-disciplinary rehab and condition management.
We support clients with needs including acquired brain injury, long term neurological conditions and functional neurological conditions, with neuropsychology as an embedded MDT service. We incorporate self-management approach and pre-vocational work within the team. We are developing services for people living with long term neurological conditions and you would be an integral part of this.
You will join a supportive neuropsychology team, with an 8c Consultant, 8a Clinical Psychologists, Assistant Psychologist and Trainees. You will provide clinical sessions across inpatient and community streams and for new developments as required, and supervision for Trainees & Assistants.
With professional links to the Guy's and St Thomas's (GSTT) Clinical Health Psychology Department and Kings College Hospital, the post provides excellent opportunities for on-going professional development & networking opportunities across South East London.

Knowledge/Qualifications
Essential
- BSc (Hons) in Psychology
- Doctorate level qualification in clinical psychology, counselling psychology or health psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS)
- HCPC Registration as Practitioner Psychologist
Desirable
- Additional related Health or Neuropsychology qualification or training
Previous Experience
Essential
- Experience of working with a client group of adults presenting with acquired neurological difficulties
- Experience of psychological assessment and treatment of people with physical health problems
- Experience of undertaking and interpreting neuropsychological assessments and writing reports based on the results
- Experience of working within multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary teams
Desirable
- Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for client's psychological care and treatment, working within an interdisciplinary care plan
- Experience of specialist neuro-psychological assessment and treatment of clients across a range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care and in patient settings
- Experience of working within a neurorehabilitation setting
- Experience of working within a physical health context within the full range of acute and community contexts
Skills
Essential
- Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological, neuropsychological and behavioural assessment, formulation and intervention, requiring sustained and intense concentration
- Skills in selection and administration of neuropsychometric tests
- A strong ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS
Desirable
- Knowledge and skills in interpreting and writing neuropsychometric assessment reports
- Knowledge and skills in using neuropsychometric assessment with people from a variety of cultural and demographic backgrounds
- Knowledge of the use of specialised psychological therapies for chronic health and/ or neurological conditions
- Knowledge of MCA assessment or risk management in relation to the client group
