We are seeking to appoint an HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical, Counselling or Health Psychologist) to work within the Primary Care Enhanced Psychological Therapy Service who is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
We are looking for applicants who are interested in working with people with complex trauma presentations providing psychological assessment and interventions (direct and indirect) as part of a team of psychologists and psychological therapists.
The Primary Care Enhanced Psychological Therapy Service offers psychological assessment and treatment (individual and group) to adults with complex psychological/mental health difficulties which may be longstanding in nature. Ideally, therapeutic interventions will be offered for service users who have already received less intensive interventions from other services or whose indicated needs are unlikely to be met by brief therapy.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide and encourage the use of psychological formulations to inform overall care planning.
The post holder will develop the psychological skill set of the team through provision of training / supervision /consultation and reflective practice.
Applications are very welcome from candidates who wish to apply for Band 8A but also those who would like a robust development position at Band 7 who will be supported to complete the competencies for a Band 8A over a period of training and development, including competencies in one or more psychological therapies. For the qualified 8A candidate it is essential to have supervision training.
The successful candidate will be provided with professional and clinical supervision frameworks and multiple opportunities to develop their specialist clinical (including developing/ enhancing therapeutic modalities) and professional skills through a well-resourced CPD structure.
We are very keen to attract the right candidates and will consider both part-time (and appropriate job shares) dependent on how this fits with the applicant's needs and that of the service. Flexible working is an option.
