Our Trust is a specialist provider of health services to a big, multi-cultural city. We provide interpreting services 24/7 to our hospitals and clinics including maternity, mental health and emergency services - in addition to a range of specialist services.
This role manages all BWC interpreting services, both in-house and agency and organises the cultural insight programme of work. The team comprises of Administrative, Interpreting and Cultural Insight team members, plus Bank Interpreters. The role manages all additional externally sourced interpreting, translation and training.
Main duties of the job
Our successful candidate will be responsible for the management of all interpreting services across BWC Trust. Managing the administration to ensure successful allocation in an extensive range of languages and modes of delivery. Utilising a range of resources from substantive staff, bank staff, video interpreting and external agencies. The post-holder will ensure the service is run efficiently against budgetary targets, including suitable use of charity funds.
Cultural insight is gained daily in such busy environments. We are seeking someone who can capture this insight and use it to improve service delivery through advice support and training. A compassionate and resourceful leader is sought to continue innovating to deliver the best communication deserved by our patients, families and staff.
