The salary range for band 7 is �43,742 - �50,056 plus HCAS per annum. The salary range for band 8a is �50,952- �57,349 plus HCAS per annum.

Due to new investment in the Autistic Spectrum Disorder Service in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, Redbridge and Havering, we are planning to transform the care of clients with ASD by providing both Specialist assessment as well as Intervention. Several exciting new posts have become available within Specialist Adult Autism Spectrum Disorder service. These are new posts as part of an Multi-Disciplinary Team created to support the growth and development of the Adult ASD Service.

As part of our Multidisciplinary (MDT) team recruitment process, we are seeking to fill the following posts:
  • Principal Psychologist - Band 8B - 0.5 WTE
  • Psychologist - Band 7/8A - 1 WTE
  • Speech and Language Therapist - Band 7 - 0.5 WTE
  • Occupational Therapist - Band 7 - 1 WTE
  • Mental Health Practitioner - Band 7 - 1 WTE
  • Assistant Psychologist - Band 5 - 1 WTE
  • Patient Pathway Assistant Psychologist - 1 WTE

This vacancy is for the Specialist ASD Psychologist

Main duties of the job

The post holders will receive weekly supervision from the ASD peer consultation supervision group and a monthly clinical supervision from a clinician from respective profession. This post will be an excellent opportunity to shape a new role as well as develop specialist skills within Adult ASD service.

The service is keen to work with individuals with:
  • An interest and experience in ASD
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team

The postholders will be expected to work in an agile way with a mix of virtual and face to face work and working from both home and office with our main base currently at Mellmead House. These posts are initially funded for 18 months as fixed term cover and is likely to be made permanent.

The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.High Cost Area Supplement - LondonThis post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of �4,313 and a maximum payment of �5,436 per annum).

Qualifications

Essential

  • HCPC registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist, or other registered Mental Health Professional (e.g. Nurse, Occupational Therapist)


Experience

Essential

  • 4 years recent post - qualification experience in a designated post within services for autism, ASD, cognitive disorders or other relevant service area
  • Experience of supervising qualified practitioners and / or students / trainee psychologists
