A very exciting and unique opportunity has arisen at Bristol Haematology & Oncology Centre (BHOC), for a highly motivated, enthusiastic senior nurse to lead the Breast Cancer CNS team. The post is a full time permanent position working Monday - Friday with the option of flexible working considered.

We are looking for a dynamic senior nurse, with proven managerial and leadership skills who is passionate about providing a high standard of care to join the Breast Cancer Care CNS Team at the BHOC. The Band 7 CNS role is responsible for leading the team through the provision of specialist nursing advice and support to patients and families throughout their care pathway.

The role requires the post holder to work closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team involved in the breast cancer care pathway in both the outpatient and inpatient setting in BHOC.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop clinically, personally, and professionally, helping to shape the service that we deliver to our patients.

Main duties of the job

You will need to be confident, have excellent clinical skills, knowledge, expertise and understanding of service delivery and its requirements.

You will have excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills, be flexible and self-motivated with experience of planning and delivering service improvement initiatives in the NHS. You will have the ability to foster good working relationships with patients, their families and carers and colleagues within the multidisciplinary team.

Person Specification

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Thorough and up to date knowledge of nursing theory and best practice within speciality area
  • Significant relevant clinical and management experience
  • Evidence of recent teaching experience
  • Experience of undertaking research or audit projects
  • Excellent IT skills


Desirable

  • Experience and knowledge of advanced practice / protocols


Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • Active 1st level registration with NMC
  • Masters level study or equivalent experience
  • Teaching / mentoring qualification or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development through maintenance of professional portfolio and registration revalidation
