Are you a Registered Nurse looking for a fresh, new challenge?We currently have a vacancy for you to join the team and be part of the future of West Mendip Community Hospital in Glastonbury.

The successful individual will be enthusiastic and motivated, an excellent communicator who embraces a holistic team approach, focusing on providing excellent clinical and pastoral care to our patient group, their families and carers. A friendly and adaptable approach is a must, as is a sense of humour.

The hospital wards have 30 beds configured in single rooms, 2 bedded areas and 4 bedded areas. The light, airy spaces are available to patients requiring rehabilitation, end of life and palliative care. The Nursing team are supported by a team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists and social workers whose goal is to improve the quality of life for patients and enable their chosen pathways.

Main duties of the job

Successful applicants will be responsible for all aspects of patient care, from admission through to discharge, using a computerised record keeping system. You will be responsible for the provision of general nursing care to all your patients, ensuring they are treated with dignity and respect whilst having opportunity to attend family meetings, undertake ward rounds and be involved in multi-disciplinary team meetings. These all contribute to the decision-making process, goal setting and care planning that facilitates a safe discharge home from Hospital.

You would be required to work flexibly on an internal shift rotation, working both days and nights over a seven-day period, including bank holidays. In return you will receive enhanced payments for working unsocial hours, a generous holiday entitlement and pension scheme.
