An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Maternal & Fetal Medicine Specialist Midwife at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Foundation Trus, tin response to the national agenda that requires the development of midwifery clinical expertise within maternal medicine services in England
This post is 30 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
The primary purpose of this exciting new role, is to support the development and implementation of pathways and services for women requiring access to specialist care for significant pre-existing medical conditions during pregnancy.

To ensure communication and information sharing systems supports access to high quality consultation between professionals and referral from one level of care to another as appropriate.
Identify processes to ensure that women within the targeted groups attending accident and emergency departments are referred as early as possible to the relevant services.
Enable transfers between services (internal and external) to be facilitated by establishing clear referral protocols.
Support the fetal medicine lead to improve access and outcomes for neonates

Qualifications
Essential
- Current NMC registration as a midwife
- Recognised management / leadership qualification
- Commitment to professional development and evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) including cannulation
- Teaching qualification
- Current driving licence and use of a car and ability to work across site
- Qualified Degree Level in relevant Midwifery course

- Post graduate degree at Master level or relevant experience.

- Qualified midwife with a minimum of 3 years' experience as a band 6 midwife.
- Experience of working collaboratively with a range of services
- Previous experience or education working with women with comorbidities and high risk pregnancies
- Understanding of the impact of inequalities and depravation on maternity outcomes and experience
- Able to engage with service users and understanding coproduction
