Are you an enthusiastic, motivated and committed pharmacist? If so we would like you to join our mental health pharmacy team. You must be someone who works well in a dynamic team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. You will also need to have the skills to be able to work within the wider multi-disciplinary team of nurses and doctors and other allied healthcare professionals and managers. You will want to develop and improve the reliability and quality of our clinical pharmacy service. You will need to have specific experience working with pharmacy teams and patients within the mental health setting. You will want to reach targets set by the Trust and by the pharmacy service. You must be self- motivated and able to motivate others.
Our ELFT pharmacy team provides pharmacy services to a wide range of community and inpatient service users in Luton and Bedforshire, City and Hackney, Newham and Tower Hamlets. This includes children and young people to adults of working age, older adults, and forensic patients. We provide a broad range of clinical pharmacy services to our inpatient wards and are supported by trained medicines management technicians.
Main duties of the job
To be a trust wide lead on medicines optimization agenda for ELFT Perinatal Services.? To be a specialist perinatal mental health pharmacist who supports patients and their families within the ELFT Perinatal Service with management related to medicines in pregnancy and breastfeeding and contraception advice. This includes liaising with ELFT Mother and Baby inpatient Unit and out of area perinatal services. Expert advice on medicines will include psychoeducation to promote adherence using motivational interviewing and recovery based interventions.? To build relationships and work in partnership with CMHT integrated care team, acute and mental health hospitals, primary care and other care providers to ensure appropriate transition of care, medicines optimisation and safety.? Development of prescribing guidance for Perinatal Services

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
- Vocational Masters Degree in Pharmacy (or equivalent)
- Registered with General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Higher Degree/Diploma / Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy
- Portfolio demonstrating specialist knowledge acquired through training and experience
- Psychiatry qualification
Desirable
- Diploma/MSc in Pharmacy Practice
- Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
- Supplementary/Independent prescriber
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Substantive post registration experience
- Substantive experience in providing relevant pharmacy services to mental health services
- Demonstrate the ability to appropriately recommend, substantiate and communicate therapeutic options in mental health patients
- Training and education
- Management of others
Desirable
- Experience in delivering training at post graduate level
- Experience in perinatal inpatient or outpatient services
