Specialist Pharmacist CAMHS
East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT) is embarking on a very exciting journey to develop our specialist Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). In 2021, NHS England confirmed additional funding to develop an interim acute mental health inpatient unit for Children and Young People in Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes.
The development of the new service is being done in conjunction with children, parents and carers who have experience of in-patient admission. Young people are helping us plan the ethos of the unit, recruit the staff and think about how we can deliver the best care. Were really proud of the leadership provided by young people to improve mental health services. If you come and join us you will have a unique opportunity to truly collaborate to improve outcomes.
Main duties of the job
To deliver an effective and caring pharmacy provision to the CAMHS Inpatient Units across the Trust. This involves developing the service in line with local and national standards and policies, ensuring the safe, clinical and cost-effective use of medicines and staff resource. There is also an expectation that the Specialist Pharmacist CAMHS will provide support to community teams with non-medical prescribing needs.
Specialist Pharmacist will provide a highly specialized level of pharmaceutical care to Children, Young People and their Parents/Carers, and will support other healthcare staff in meeting risk management and clinical governance responsibilities around the use of medicines.
About us
Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting young people and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.
