The Department of Clinical research at Musgrove Park Hospital are looking to welcome a new Research Nurse/Practitioner to join their acute research team.
The Acute Research Team is busy! We are a team of 12 who work together to set-up, deliver and manage numerous studies in various departments including, ED, ICU, surgery and other emergency admissions.
If you are interested in research, have experience working in acute settings, motivated, can work autonomously and have great attention to detail then this may be the job for you.
Main duties of the job
The role of the Acute Research Nurse/Practitioner is to assist in the management and co-ordination of research projects involving patients, families and carers at Musgrove Park Hospital. This post will involve the safe conduct of research involving both NIHR portfolio studies and industry funded research, working within the South West Peninsula Clinical Research Network. The role will involve facilitating the aims of the NIHR at a local level by ensuring that the Trust meets its targets for research delivery.
You will work as an integral part of the Acute Research team co-ordinating, delivering, monitoring and recording the care and progress of patients involved in research studies and clinical trials. Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will recruit patients and their families to research, thoroughly supporting patients and their carers during their involvement in the research process.
You will ensure that all elements of clinical trial work is carried out in accordance with UK legal requirements, Trust policies and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and regulatory requirements to provide assurance that the rights, safety and wellbeing of patients are protected.
We would encourage informal emails or phone calls if you'd like to find out more about this role.
