The Royal United Hospital Bath NHS Foundation Trust is excited to announce that an opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the existing team of breast cancer Clinical nurse specialists as a band 7.
Breast Cancer Clinical Nurse specialists support people diagnosed with breast cancer by providing expert advice, psycho-social support and information on their disease, its' management, investigations and follow up care.
You will be joining an established and expanding team at a truly exciting time as we prepare to move into our brand new state of the art Dyson cancer centre and Macmillan wellbeing hub. The existing team are committed to the delivery and development of high quality, patient centred, holistic care for patients undergoing an Oncological treatment pathway. They play an active part in clinical practice, education, research, audit and professional activities related to breast cancer care.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be part of the breast multi-disciplinary team. The Breast Cancer CNS team help to care for patients and their families who have a primary and secondary breast cancer diagnosis who are undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy and supportive treatments.
They will be responsible for providing care and support for people diagnosed with breast cancer by providing expert clinical advice, emotional support and information on their disease, investigations, treatment and follow-up care. They will work both autonomously and within a wider team including Oncologists, the existing oncology breast CNS team, clinical trials teams, palliative and end of life care teams and other members of the wider MDT. The post will include the development and delivery of high quality, holistic care to patients in an inpatient and outpatient setting, nurse led face to face and telephone clinics. The team play an active part in clinical practice, management of patient caseload, education, research, audit and professional activities relating to breast cancer care.
The post holder will act as a specialist resource throughout the Trust by providing expert advice, guidance, teaching and training.
