An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Highly Specialist Team Lead Band 7 Physiotherapist in the Musculoskeletal (MSK) service in Swansea Bay UHB.

The role will involve assessing and managing patients both in core physiotherapy and triage clinics. The post holder will also support the delivery of core services including various classes. They will liaise with MSK Clinical Team Leads to update on core matters . This will involve operational management duties to oversee core physiotherapy service waiting list, staff management and service development. While also monitoring staff development, training, mentorship and student provision.

Main duties of the job

The post holder requires extensive knowledge and experience working in the MSK environment. You should have highly developed clinical reasoning skills to implement an effective patient centered approach to care. You should have strong insight of evidence based practice and understand its relevance in developing MSK pathways. The post holder requires experience with leading and managing a team to provide high quality service. Additionally, it is important to have experience in completing audits and/ or service improvement projects.

The post holder must be confident to work with other health care professionals in Physiotherapy and other stakeholders including GP's, secondary/tertiary care consultants.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree in Physiotherapy (or other relevant qualification)
  • Professional Registration with HCPC
  • Evidence of post-graduate masters level education or evidence of equivalent clinical experience.


Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Substantial NHS experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience of supervising students, physiotherapy assistants and junior staff.
  • Experience in leadership and management


Service Development

Essential

  • Involvement in audit, research and understanding quality issues.


Desirable

  • Service development or quality improvement experience
