Derbyshire Healthcare has two exciting opportunities for an Apprentice to join the Medical Devices Team and the E-Rostering Team!

Main duties of the job

We are looking for people with great people skills, willingness to learn and who are curious about developing ways of working to make the everyday lives of those who work in the NHS and those who access it better.

The apprenticeship programme will support you to learn and grow within your role and also to give you a broad range of experiences and contacts within Derbyshire Healthcare.

We provide services to a broad range of people across a wide range of settings across Derbyshire and the apprenticeship schemes support the infrastructure which enables high-quality healthcare to be delivered.

These posts will be based at Kingsway Site in Derby, working Monday to Friday, 9-5.

Medical Devices Administrator Apprentice

We have a role developing the framework for colleagues to order and maintain their medical device kit. This includes developing a digital solution to ensure that the right kit is in the right place to deliver the right care.

The successful candidate will have a key role in the administration, development and support of the needs of clinical colleagues within the trust and will receive support to develop an network of relationships with colleagues both clinical and support services to enable this to happen.

This will be alongside a Level 3 Business Administration Qualification supported by Derby college, with time release for study.

E-Rostering Service Desk Apprentice

We have a role within the E-Roster team to help deliver a quality service supporting users across the Trust. The role will be varied and comes at an exciting time where we will be rolling out the use of the rostering system to all teams across Trust.

The successful candidate will have a key role providing our service desk capability, reporting on roster use to managers, training new users and playing a part in the onboarding of new teams to the E-Roster.

The position will require relationship building with managers across the Trust as you seek to resolve their issues and allow them to roster effectively, you will be supported by the team as you build these relationships.

This will be alongside a Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner Qualification supported by Derby college, with time release for study.

Customer Service Practitioner - Level 2 - DCG (derby-college.ac.uk)

The post holder will be eligible for NHS holiday entitlement and travel costs and provided with mobile phone and laptop to enable remote working where required.

Person Specification

Medical Devices Apprentice - Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent (A-C)
  • Willingness to work towards and complete Level 3 Apprenticeship


E-Rostering Apprentice - Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English at grades A-D (9-3) or an equivalent qualification. (You must achieve Level 2 English and Maths prior to taking the end-point assessment)


Desirable

  • European Computer Driving Licence (EDCL)/ Computer Literacy and Information Technology (CLAIT) or equivalent
  • Computer qualifications at any level


Apprenticeship - Other Requirements

Essential

  • Committed to completing role specific qualifications
  • Willing to travel to meet the demands of the post
