An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead our Wythenshawe PACS Team within the Informatics department. As the leader of this team you will be responsible for the day to day management of the PACS System Specialists, PACS Technicians and PACS Administrators.

You will be a problem solver able to manage, investigate and resolve issues a good communicator able to engage with all grades and disciplines of staff through a variety of media and a quick learner able to develop skills rapidly in a technical environment.

You will have experience using, administrating and supporting clinical systems. System administration and configuration knowledge is essential and experience in supporting Clinisys ICE, CRIS, Sectra PACS and other imaging related hospital systems would be particularly advantageous.

In return we will provide a comprehensive induction programme and you will be appraised on a yearly basis with a view to developing knowledge and skills where appropriate.

This position has a requirement to provide out of hours on call support at evenings and weekends on a rota basis.

Main duties of the job

Be responsible for the day-to-day management of the PACS System Specialists, PACS technicians and PACS Applications Administrators working in conjunction with the other PACS Managers across the MFT sites.

Provide management and administration for Order Communications, PACS and other designated Imaging applications

To lead in the delivery of first, second and third line support, Imaging system administration and system customisation for both Community and Acute services. The post holder will manage the support and housekeeping for designated systems to the highest possible standard and ensure system downtime is minimised and application associated risks are mitigated.

Person Specification

Experience/Knowledge

Essential

  • Experience of line management of staff
  • Operational knowledge of PACS and imaging systems
  • Previous experience of working within a healthcare setting, involving close working relationships with clinicians and management


Desirable

  • Proven experience in working in customer facing IT service delivery environment providing first, second and third line support and use of IT Service Desk systems
  • Experience in use of a variety of clinical systems within healthcare

Essential

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer focus
  • Good organisational and time management skills with ability to prioritise workload to reflect competing demands of a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Ability to analyse situations / information to identify and resolve a range of problems
  • Ability to undertake shift working/On call, including out-of- hours, weekend and Public Holidays
  • Demonstrate high standards of documentation, record keeping and attention to detail.
