Main duties of the job
The Senior PDN for Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) post requires an enthusiastic and motivated individual that will be managing our OSCE preparation programme and team of trainers whilst also actively facilitating IENs successful transition into clinical practice. This will be both in part directly delivering and teaching within the OSCE programme and also supporting team members in their job responsibilities.
The post holder will have strong clinical experience, hold highly developed clinical skills in supporting and educating learners in practice both across acute and community sites.

Job responsibilities
Have a competent working knowledge of the components of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) process. Be responsible for the management of the Trust internationally educated nurse pathway from recruitment to registration in the UK. Manage the Trust adult nurse OSCE education programme that prepares IEN for their NMC OSCE exam. Including day-to-day running and delivery of programme content. Be an active participant in the development, teaching, delivery and assessment of IENs preparing for their OSCE Exam. Lead and line-manage a team of OSCE Trainers to achieve programme delivery and ensuring service outcomes are met. To keep abreast with the NMC most up-to-date OSCE exam assessment criteria and all processes related to the management of pre and post exam support for IENs. Lead with developing educational initiatives within the OSCE Programme through evaluation of programme content and engaging with internal and external stakeholders to improve the experiences of IENs. To assess the quality of the learning environment and develop action plans when changes need to be made to the OSCE programme for IENs. To support and or delegate OSCE processes, such as booking exams liaising with universities and department managers. Support candidates who are unsuccessful offering emotional and clinical support. Liaise with stakeholders to ensure that staff understand the challenges that may be faced by IENs and offer guidance and support if necessary. To analyse OSCE results and reflect on strategies to continuously improve OSCE results within the organisation. To train new IEN trainers to deliver the OSCE programme, ensuring they deliver training to the required NMC OSCE exam criteria.
