This is an exciting new role to support Phase 2 Polio/MMR & School Age Vaccination programme in the Immunisation Department. The post holder will deliver a wide range of communications across a number of different platforms to support immunisation uptake. This includes regular communications, public awareness campaigns, intranet management, social media, and creation of video content.

The postholder will be based in Thames House, Teddington with work from home on occasion. You may be requested to work in other community sites.

The communications and engagement elements of the Immunisation team plays a key role in managing the reputation of the organisation and is committed to delivering a first-class corporate communications function.

Main duties of the job

  • To circulate engaging and persuasive marketing materials provided by NHSE and local agencies ensuring Trust brand guidelines are met. This will include a range of digital collateral, including videos, graphics and artwork for social media, digital signage and websites, as well as printed materials such as posters, flyers and brochur.
  • Day-to-day management and updating of Immunisation services websites, assisting with the planning of new content and regularly monitoring site analytics
  • To provide monthly updates on comms and engagement activity to management on emerging issues, trends, successes, and areas for improvement
  • Plan and deliver engaging and impactful health promotion and awareness campaigns
  • Liaise with local community champions and develop relationships.
  • Engage with Local authorities and community partners creating content plans, posting and evaluating engagement.
  • Independently serve as the primary point of contact for communications matters for the Immunisation Department.
  • Manage confidential, and sensitive information.
  • Create, distribute and analyse service user surveys and questionnaires.
  • Plan, organise and arrange meetings, presentations and briefings
  • Collate feedback from service users.
  • Evaluate all service user engagement activities.

Person Specification



  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of experience and or continuous professional development in communications/marketing


  • Communications/Engagement qualification or equivalent experience



  • Working to deadlines and prioritising work
  • Maintaining effective relationships with organisational leadership
  • Research and evaluation methods and techniques


  • Experience in the NHS/public sector



  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proven project management and organisational abilities
