We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Occupational Therapists to join the Therapies Directorate at the University Hospitals of North Midlands. The post offers the opportunity to work in an exciting University Hospital based on the two hospital sites of The Royal Stoke and County Hospital.The post rotates across a variety of specialist inpatient and outpatient areas which include: Surgery, Palliative Care, Frail Elderly, Emergency Portals & Medicine
Main duties of the job
Surgery - lower limb amputees, wheelchair assessment, environmental assessments & adaptation of functional tasks. Complex D/C planning and splinting for critical care step down patients.Palliative Care - oncology/renal conditions, fast track D/C planning & complex manual handling assessments & equipment provision. Long term life limiting conditions and challenging conversations.Frail Elderly - frailty management, patients with dementia, falls management, complex discharge planningEmergency Portals - rapid decision making in relation to d/c planning and equipment provision & admission avoidance. Opportunities to join our falls response service preventing admissions working alongside West Midlands ambulance service and ANPs.Medicine - wide range of medical conditions including Non-Invasive Ventilation, MND, Cardiology & post Critical Care Step down, complex d/c planning, specific knowledge in seating wheelchairs.
