We are looking for a dynamic, values led and patient focused radiographer. The role requires good communication skills as you would need liaise with multi-disciplinary teams across two sites screening the public for lung cancer.You will need to be team orientated with demonstrable teaching abilities as you will be working with under-graduates & junior staff. The successful candidate will rotate through UCLH Satellite Sites and will report to the CT Superintendent Radiographer.

The role involves participation in the out of hours rota leading a small team of staff and delivering OOH CT Service.

The department is keen to facilitate continual professional development whilst working in a supportive and progressive team. All staff are actively supported in this area.

The Radiology directorate is in the Imaging Division which also includes Nuclear Medicine. The Division is in Surgery and Cancer Board which is led by the Medical Director. Radiology services are provided at 5 sites across the UCLH campus. We provide CT, MRI, X-ray, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound and Interventional Radiology services. UCLH is one of the largest and most successful Foundation Trusts in the UK with an International reputation and a tradition of innovation. The Trust provides first-class acute and specialist services to patients both locally and from throughout the UK and abroad. UCLH services are provided across five satellite sites on the UCLH campus

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting role for a dedicated and enthusiastic radiographer

Assess referrals or request form, and justify under radiographic regulations and locally agreed protocols.

To prioritise patients to ensure optimum efficiency and service quality.

You will be providing a high-quality diagnostic service whilst maintaining a safe working Imaging environment.

You will be responsible for help organising the patient workflow and liaising with a multi-disciplinary team.

You will ensure adherence to IR(ME)R 2017 across the department.

You should have a flexible and pragmatic approach to your work, exceptional organisational skills that will enable you to manage a varied workload ensuring safe and clinical practices.

Person Specification

Knowledge and Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc or Diploma in Radiography
  • State Registration
  • Evidence of relevant specialist post- degree or diploma courses for Continuing Professional Development


Experience

Essential

  • Evidence of a range of post qualification clinical experience
  • Evidence of significant experience to rotate between specialist areas
  • Participation in quality assurance and clinical audit


Desirable

  • Evidence of CT experience


Skills and Abilities

Essential

  • Evidence of participation in QA and maintenance of agreed standards
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to use own initiative, solve problems and make decisions.
  • Evidence of experience in the supervision, training and assessment of students to required standard
  • Ability to safely use a wide range of manual handling equipment as provided by the Trust
