We have a fantastic opportunity for a Trainee Family Therapist to join our CAMHS team. We are looking for applicants who have completed their Level 1 (Foundation) qualification in Systemic Practice.

Main duties of the job

Whilst being supported to complete the intermediate level qualification in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy, you will deliver family therapy interventions under supervision that are appropriate to your level of training, to children, young people with a variety of mental health problems and their families within a dedicated multi-disciplinary team.

You will be an active member of the team and offer systemic perspectives that are appropriate to training stage and work in collaboration with colleagues.

You will conduct systemic and family therapy assessments develop systemic formulations and deliver interventions that are appropriate to your stage of training and manage your own caseload.

You will receive regular clinical supervision from a qualified Family Therapist and Systemic Supervisor.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply

  • Relevant professional Qualification and Registration
  • Foundation qualification in Systemic Practice


  • Additional formal qualification in a recognised therapeutic approach



  • Eligible to practice under the mental health measure Wales 2010. This includes registered mental health nurses, social workers, occupational therapist, practising psychologist.


  • Specific, targeted, evidence based interventions e.g. EMDR
