An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Infectious Diseases/ Clinical Pharmacology Team as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner. The position is full time position, working pattern 0900 - 1700 Monday to Friday.
You should have a keen interest in providing high quality harm free, patient centred care in a busy, fast paced, ever changing and often challenging environment.
Candidates will be expected to have (or be working towards) relevant Masters Level Study which includes a minimum of Clinical Examination and Diagnostics and Non-Medical Prescribing (V300) qualification.
This post is for a qualified independent Advanced Nurse Practitioner however, we will consider a trainee position for the right candidate as an Band 8A Annex U 21, with the opportunity to complete a funded Apprenticeship MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice within an allocated time frame.
To be considered for a trainee position you will be an established Registered Nurse with experience of working at Band 7 level or above with a minimum of 3 years' relevant clinical experience in Infectious Diseases/ Clinical Pharmacology or a related acute medicine and evidence of continuing professional development at Level 7.

Clinical
- Undertake history and physical examination to accurately assess the patients condition. Critically analyse findings to form a diagnosis and develop appropriate treatment plan and discharge patients safely.
- Order, interpret and act upon relevant diagnostic tests and procedures.
- Interpret, convey and relay complex and conflicting information to MDT members/patients/relatives in possibly stressful situations, which may be delicate or offensive in nature i.e. breaking bad news.
- Act as a clinical expert providing continuous support to the nursing staff and other MDT members within and outside designated area of work.
- Act autonomously admitting and discharging patients.
- Prescribe medication in accordance with current legislation and trust policy.
- Maintain comprehensive, contemporaneous and accurate nursing/medical records and documentation,.
